1977 C-3PO Head to Sell at London Auction

A movie memorabilia auction is bringing C-3PO's head to our galaxy this November — as well as around 1,800 other famous movie and TV items.

The droid's shiny gold head from the first Star Wars film, Episode IV — A New Hope, is expected to sell for up to around $1.2 million at the Propstore annual movie memorabilia auction. The auction is being held from November 9-12 in London, England.

The costume piece is from actor Anthony Daniels, who has played the droid in the iconic movie series since it began in 1977.

Daniels is also offering other items from his collection, such as C-3PO's hands and feet, and original movie scripts that include notes from the actor.

"I trust that the pieces will go into the right hands," Daniels said in a press release, according to Forbes. "I hope this can bring pleasure to Star Wars fans and collectors all around the world and give them a chance to own a piece of the real thing."

But the movie magic doesn't stop with Star Wars.

Also available at the auction will be James Bond's tuxedo, worn by Daniel Craig in No Time to Die, as well as Leonardo DiCaprio's costume from Titanic, and Michael Keaton's 1989 Batman suit.

The glove worn by Freddy Krueger in the 1984 movie A Nightmare on Elm Street is available, and expected to sell for up to almost $500,000. And Indiana Jones' iconic bullwhip from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom has an expected value of up to around $250,000.

Marvel movie fans could get their hands on Captain America's shield, used by actor Chris Evans in the 2011 film Captain America: The First Avenger, for an expected $60,000 to $120,000.

Altogether, the items available at the auction have a total worth of around $15 million. But to many Hollywood movie fans, the memorabilia will be priceless.
